Hannah Dowdy

A native of Kentucky, Hannah began performing at an early age and hasn’t stopped since!  She earned her BFA in Musical Theatre Performance from Northern Kentucky University, and spent a year as an Associate Company Member at Playhouse on the Square before settling in NYC .  Favorite roles include: Rona Lisa Peretti in THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE, Nancy in OLIVER!, Ida in HONK!, Cathy in THE LAST FIVE YEARS, Dragon in SHREK: THE MUSICAL, and Katharine in THE TAMING OF THE SHREW.  Hannah is a proud member of T.W.U. Local 764, and over the last five years, has worked backstage at The Metropolitan Opera, WICKED, and HAMILTON.  She is ecstatic to join the Ozark Actors Theatre family!

Jeni Steele

Sally Applewhite/Mary Hatch

Jeni is a Rolla native who is excited to return to OAT’s stage after twelve years, working with longtime friend Blane which is a dream come true. Jeni has a BA in theatre from Truman State where she fell in love with the possibilities of storytelling, creating live theatre, and sharing her love for theatre with the next generation. Some of her favorite roles in past shows: Crimes of the Heart (Lenny); Faith County (Mildred); The Drowsy Chaperone(Mrs. Tottendale); You Can’t It With You (Grand Duchess Olga Katrina); and set building with her best friend/mentor for three years of main stage productions.

This story of George Bailey has always held such a special place in Jeni’s life, knowing the movie by heart growing up and then being in OAT’s 2008 rendition. Now, at the end of this year filled with so much sorrow, heartache, and uncertainty, she is grateful to remember how very much we all have to be thankful for in our lives. This show serves as a reminder to each of us to count our blessings out loud, to hold close the loved ones in our lives, and to seek collective peace. Shalom.

Jeni would like to thank the team who dreamed up this show and made it possible and each audience member supporting theatre in this community.

An extra special thanks (and confetti  cannon) to all Jeni’s friends and family around the world who support and love and celebrate with her.
