January 29 - Movie Afternoon: Bring your blankets and pillows to snuggle in and watch a recording of the spectacular stage production, War Horse. Be sure to check out the trailer before you come. The show contains loud sound FX, gunfire, flashing lights and strobe lighting and is recommended for ages 10+
February 26 - Monologues and Storytelling: We will practice monologues, work on acting technique, and write our own 1-person stories to tell. You can even bring your own monologue to work on.
March 26 - Dance and Movement: Learn about different movement techniques that actors and directors use to tell stories AND the second half of the afternoon will be a dance workshop with a special guest instructor.
April 23 - Devised Theatre: We begin with an empty room and a group of creators. Through conversations, collaborations, improvisations, and games, we will write a script, stage a show, and tell a story that is all our own. As a group, we will decide how we would like to share our final product.
May 14 - VOLUNTEER DAY: OAT's summer intern company will be arriving this day, and we need a welcoming committee! Volunteer to help people move in, serve snacks, give tours, and get to know the professional actors and technicians who will be with us all summer.
May 28 - Youth Production Work Day: Support the Summer Youth Production on their tech day. There's lots to do as the show is nearing opening night. We'll be helping put the finishing touches on the show.
June 25 - A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder: Come see our first summer show for just $10! There will be a Q&A with actors after the show.
August 13 (tentative) - Road Trip!! We'll be taking a trip to see a show in St. Louis, Arrow Rock, or Kansas City.
