Summer Theatre Academy Director
We are seeking a creative and enthusiastic musical theatre teaching artist to fill the role of Summer Theatre Academy Director at Ozark Actors Theatre. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and leading our Summer Theatre Academy, which offers week-long musical theatre camps for kids aged 8-12 and 13-18.
Responsibilities:

Work closely with the Managing and Education Director and the Education Intern to ensure the success of the program

Manage/mentor the Education Intern

Create lesson plans that meet education goals and objectives as set by the Education Director

Devise a performance program of 3-5 songs, dances, and scenes, which showcase the skills students learn during the week
-
Coordinate and manage any art materials, props, costumes, etc. needed

Teach beginner/intermediate choreography

Teach solo, ensemble, and 2-part music

Direct acting scenes

Manage classroom and event logistics

Foster a positive and inclusive environment for all participants
Requirements:
-
Passion for working with youth and the arts
-
Experience working with elementary and middle school students

Classroom management experience
-
Ability to play piano is preferred but not required

Resourceful, innovative, forward-thinking and committed
-
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and a high level of professionalism
This is a full-time position with housing provided. The position runs from June 5 to July 14 and pays $375 per week. The Summer Theatre Academy Director will work closely with the Managing and Education Director to ensure the success of the program.
