MISSION OF OAT JR.
OAT Jr. is Ozark Actors Theatre education program for students K-12. The purpose of OAT Jr. is to provide training and theatrical education specifically to young people. Theatrical training improves confidence, cognitive ability, the expression of creativity, and interpersonal skills. Providing this training not only improves our community’s appreciation for our work, but deepens the talent pool and enables us to create better work.
OAT Jr. is comprised of two components. First is our annual Drama Camp. Each summer we provide three week-long sessions of Drama Camp: two sessions of half-day camps for elementary age children, and one session of full-day camp for teenagers. All of these camps culminate in a live, open-to-the-public performance on our mainstage in the Cedar Street Playhouse.

The second component of OAT Jr. is an annual, fully-produced theatrical presentation, featuring an all-student cast. Auditions will be open to all area children and teens (provided they are 18 or younger and not graduated from high school), and the production will be overseen by a professional director and designers. This production will take place on our mainstage in the Cedar Street Playhouse, the same stage where our professional summer season is presented.
