Drama Camp

2008 Summer Camp Overview

Children’s Workshops

Students of these fun drama workshops will receive instruction in acting, singing and dancing as well as star in their own musical! Working together, they will build and make their own costumes and sets too! Each day will be spent in class, learning basic skills by hands-on activities and playing games; and in rehearsal, learning lines and dance steps. At the end of the workshop, each student will have their very own monologue, song and dance combination for auditions! Learning performance skills and stagecraft will help build confidence, make friends and provide a fun week of singing and dancing!

Teen Workshops

This all day workshop is geared toward teaching teens performance and audition skills. Each day consists of instruction in acting, voice and dance as well as the various aspects of Technical Theatre; and will end in rehearsal for their showcase performance. This structure supports each student on an individual basis by exploring different techniques and levels. The Showcase at the end of the week will include monologues, scenes and musical numbers from modern Broadway musicals, providing each student with a piece that showcases their individual talents! Each student will go through a mock audition at the end of the week using the pieces they learned in class. This is the perfect workshop for a beginning actor, or the seasoned Thespian!
