(Director) Edward is happy to return to the OAT to direct his eighth production. For OAT he has directed ALL I REALLY NEED TO KNOW I LEARNED IN KINDERGARTEN, LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS, ONCE UPON A MATTRESS, ANNIE, OKLHOMA, ALWAYS PATSY CLINE, and FIDDLER ON THE ROOF. He was nominated for a Kevin Kline Award for Outstanding Director for his 2006 production of Door to Door at New Jewish Theatre in Saint Louis. Edward has been associated with some of the top theatres in the United States including The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis (since 1990), The La Jolla Playhouse, The National Theatre of the Deaf and the Alley Theatre. Edward is on the faculty of the Conservatory of Theatre Arts at Webster University.
Christopher M. Waller joins OAT from the University of Georgia (UGA) where he is currently finishing his MFA degree in Theatre Design and Technology. His design credits include Brigadoon for Sterling College, Machinal for Buck’s Rock Performing and Visual Arts Camp, and Noises Off on UGA’s Fine Arts Mainstage. He is currently working on his thesis project, Hamletmachine. His technical credits include Technical Director for Midsummer Night’s Dream at Sterling College and Footloose for Buck’s Rock; and Assistant Technical Director for UGA’s production of King Lear. He is extremely excited to be working for OAT this summer alongside his beautiful wife Christy and amazing daughter Michaela.
JIM WELCH
Production Stage Manager
Jim is excited to be returning to OAT for the 2007 Season. Having been a proud member of Actors Equity Association for nearly 26 years, he is pleased to have spent the last 20 summers with OAT. Jim’s tenure at OAT has included over 48 productions as Production Stage Manager, Assistant Stage Manager, Technical Director, Production Associate, and Prop Master. Jim holds a BS from Southeast Missouri State University in Elementary Education and Master’s work in technical theatre at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. While in Kansas City, Jim was a Technician, Stage Manager and Marionettist with the Kansas City Repertory Theatre, Starlight Theatre, and Broadway Marionettes, respectively. When not working for OAT, Jim is President of the Cuba Arts Council and teaches 5th grade Math in Cuba, MO. Jim’s credo is: “Those that can DO, those that can, also, TEACH!”
